All grades were reduced to one day games following last week’s typical summer Saturday. The 1st XI played Glenroy. The opposition amassed 7/181, and we could only achieve 9/153. Baker again amongst the runs, making 59. Mick Bury the pick of the bowlers with 4/51. A good debut by 16 year old Justin Mathew with the ball. The seconds won a thriller, after making 8/102 they restricted Glenroy to 8/101. Dan Popec 4/44 and Dan Nolan 2/29 in his first game for the year following injury.
The third XI had a game to forget. The 4th XI made 113 and Greenvale could only muster 52. Luke Aqualina 4/9 and Michael Hill 2/6. The fifths, chasing Flemington’s 7/168 got to 147. The 6th XI had an emphatic win, the father and son combination of the Mulchahy’s putting on 100 for the first wicket, father making 72, son 36 and the veteran Chris Barton chiming in with 3/11.
The veterans lost to AWST Christophers, 8/160 v 9/118. Highlight of the day was Lucas’s Byrnes first 50 in senior cricket.
The Under 17’s had a good win, amassing 8/167, S.R. laffan 52no, T.Warren 50no, and J. Philpot 29 in 10 minutes. When bowling, Daniel Brown 5/11 and Jamie Georgevski did well.
In Junior cricket, the 16A side lost to St Bernard’s, 16B’s had a bye. In under 14’s, the A grade side lost, the 14 D side had their first win of the season (with only 8 players!). The 12B’s lost to Aberfeldie, the 12E’s beat Aberfeldie, and the 12F side beat Flemington
